Spotsylvania Soo Bahk Do

Karate Testing Procedure (Belt Promotions)

Students must take classes for a minimum of twelve (12) weeks to be eligible for the first test, unless otherwise authorized by the instructor. Testing is not mandatory; however, students cannot be promoted without testing.

There is a required test fee for students testing according to belt level (please see table below). All students will be required to become a member of the U.S. Soo Bahk Do Moo Duk Kwan Federation to be eligible for testing. The annual fee to become a member of the Federation is $49. This fee insures students of all benefits available to Federation members.

Testing for Midnight Blue Belt is held regionally at a site determined by the Soo Bahk Do Headquarters. This testing is held twice a year; in the spring and in the fall.

Test fees are paid to afford the student the opportunity to test. Payment of test fees does not ensure that a student will pass his or her examine.

If a student successfully passes his/her examination, a promotion certificate and belt level will be given. All test applications will be passed out at least one week prior to the testing. ALL TEST FEES AND APPLICATIONS ARE REQUIRED TO BE PAID PRIOR TO THE TESTING DATE. Students who do not comply with the above will have to wait until the next testing. Testing is held at the end of each six-week session.
